What We Do
This year at Smoky, we’re showing two great brands… LITTLE & WOOD and METALBIRD:
LITTLE & WOOD… 3D Wooden Kitsets
15 years ago, we started making sustainable wooden kit sets for our kids and gifts for our friends, never imagining the path that decision would take us on. In a world overloaded with disposable plastic widgets, lasting quality stands out so we design and craft beautiful 'Woodlets' that are fun to make, kind to the environment, delightful to look at and with a bit of TLC... will be with you forever.
Fun should be simple, sustainable, and made with love and after 15 years we’ve come to realize that our business is all about "Making Fun"… one ‘Woodlet at a time'.
Founded in New Zealand (and still made there), we try to do things the right way for our people, our partners, and the planet we share. We use 100% FSC certified wood, VOC free inks and use 100% recyclable bags made from recycled plastic. In addition, for every pound of plastic that we use we are partnering with the Plastic Collective to remove two pounds of Ocean Bound product.
METALBIRD… the World’s Largest Art Installation
Metalbird emerged from a New Zealand street art project in 2009. Founder Phil Walters designed, crafted and hammered up dozens of life-sized, Metalbird stencils for no other reason than to surprise, delight and intrigue. 10 years later these beautifully crafted, iconic, life-like bird silhouettes have been hammered into backyards, patios and gardens throughout the globe.
With the tap of a hammer a Metalbird will transform your environment into a work of art and surprise and delight visitors for years to come. They have not only proved wildly popular with garden owners and gift-giver but also with our wonderful retail partners who regularly cite our ranges as “best-selling with strong sell through and leading $$$’s/sq meter”
At the heart of Metalbird is a love of art – and a love of birds. We support many conservation programs around the world, giving to the organizations like American Bird Conservancy who are on the ground restoring bird habitats, educating and conducting badly needed research into the species that need our help.
Producing locally is important to us and each bird is proudly crafted, packed and shipped from right here in the USA.
